I know a lot of recent ex-Yahoos. My husband is a recent ex-Yahoo. I know several likely soon-to-be ex-Yahoos.
This article was in yesterday's Wall Street Journal.
But, then everything got blurred and he realized that same thing that Garlinghouse stated in his manifest.
I like his comparison with a peanut butter, he warns that Yahoo is spread too thin and is all over the place.
Excerpts:
"We lack a focused, cohesive vision for our company."
"We lack clarity of ownership and accountability"
We lack decisiveness."
I've never seen a company that is less sure of itself, with less confidence in its ability to be successful with no focus, completely lost and just making comparisons to Google. Forget about Google, figure out what Yahoo is and should be doing and do it.
